Construction Tips -General

  • 2.1 Define safety requirements that needs to be followed in the site and agree with all contractors
  • 2.2 Nominate one person for communication for each contractor and request one person from each contractor for communication
  • 2.3 Make a prioritized item list for each stage and execute construction plan covering prioritized first
  • 2.4 Remember that safety is the most important aspect at the site and do not let anyone risk safety in the construction site
  • 2.5 Plan weekly meeting at the site with all stake holders (architect, structural engineer, contractor, etc)
  • 2.6 Get construction detail plan from the main construction contractor with dates for support services to be take part in construction
  • 2.7 Get man power requirement for construction from the main contractor and monitor daily usage of Manpower at the site
  • 2.8 Get drawing for each support service requirements and keep provision for them in the construction stage
  • 2.9 Daily monitor construction plan against actual and evaluate the progress
  • 2.10 Inspect the quality of materials and the construction daily and get the approval from site engineer/Architect or structural engineer
  • 2.11 Select and get approval for all sanitary fittings, interior items, Light fittings, etc. prior from the architect to avoid unnecessary delays
  • 2.12 Make sure to monitor budget against actual on each stage
  • 2.13 Make sure not to mix new requirements with already agreed construction plan
  • 2.14 Assign new requirements as phase 2 of the project (otherwise project will never get completed and you will not be able to monitor project progress, budget, etc)
  • 3.1 Get approval from architect and structural/site engineer first after completion of the construction
  • 3.2 Make a check list for hand over process after completion
  • 3.3 Do a joint inspection with all stake holders on each item’s functionality based on the check list
  • 3.4 Get warranty certificates for agreed time lines
  • 3.5 Get service agreement if required to maintain facilities better
